Antonis Giakoumakis was born in Athens, Greece in 1976. From an early age, he exhibited an innate talent for drawing. Despite studying mechanics, his passion for the arts never waned, and he eventually pursued his interest by enrolling at Vakalo Art and Design College. There, he studied painting and art history under the guidance of renowned professors Marigo Kassi, Katerina Mertzani, and Giannis Papagiannis. With the aid of a scholarship, he extended his academic pursuit for an additional year and graduated in 2010. Giakoumakis draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists and periods, including Greek painters Yiorgos Buzianis and Nikolaos Gyzis, as well as Japanese ink painting, Baroque art, and the figurative art movement prevalent in England from 1940 to 1970.
