Discover Molly’sArtMove

Molly Maureen Phiri Winckelmans is more than an artist she is a storyteller whose voice echoes across cultures, mediums, and generations. Born in Zimbabwe and now based in Belgium, Molly’s life bridges two continents, shaping a creative vision that speaks boldly of identity, faith, womanhood, and belonging.

As the founder of Molly’sArtMove, she has created more than a brand she has built a sanctuary for truth, healing, and transformation through art. Her works are not merely visual experiences; they are emotional landscapes that invite the viewer to reflect, feel, and connect.

From African Soil to European Studios

Molly’s early life unfolded among the vibrant cultures and natural beauty of Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. On her grandmother’s farm in Ndola Zambia, she began crafting with mud and charcoal long before she held a formal brush. Surrounded by color, rhythm, and symbolism, she developed an instinct for storytelling through texture and form an artistic language that still pulses through her work today.

Relocating to Belgium introduced a contrasting world: structured, modern, and unfamiliar. Yet instead of choosing one identity over another, Molly fused them. Her art became a dialogue between African heritage and European influence, tradition and transformation a language all her own.

The Voice of Women, the Power of Presence

At the heart of her work lies a celebration of women, especially the Blaque woman her strength, beauty, and voice. Through both painting and sculpture, Molly pays tribute to resilience and spirit, honoring untold stories and elevating silenced voices.

Her materials are often raw, textured, and emotionally charged. She uses bold brushstrokes, palette knife impressions, and sculptural forms that don’t just portray they proclaim. Her signature use of black is more than aesthetic; it’s symbolic. For Molly, black is grounding. It represents power, depth, and the sacred space from which other colors emerge.

Seeing With the Eyes of Love

One of her most poignant pieces, Seeing with the Eyes of Love, is a tactile painting inspired by her daughter Lisa, who is visually impaired. Created with oil pastel and acrylic, the work invites the viewer to look beyond the surface, to sense love in layers. It’s a mother’s truth captured in texture a reminder that the heart often sees more clearly than the eyes.

Molly’sArtMove: A Sanctuary in Motion

What began as a personal journey has evolved into a growing movement. Through Molly’sArtMove, Molly creates spaces where creativity, community, and spirituality converge.

Her gallery is not just a place to exhibit it’s a space to educate, uplift, and inspire. She offers free art classes to children, guided by the belief that art should be for everyone, regardless of background or means.

Recognition followed: permanent collections in national galleries, international exhibitions, and over 10 international awards. But Molly measures success in connection not accolades. In the tear of a viewer moved by her work, in the joy of a child holding a brush for the first time there lies her true reward.

Creating as a Sacred Act

For Molly, art is spiritual. Her studio is a sanctuary where gospel music plays softly, sunlight dances on living plants, and quiet prayers set the tone for creation. Every day begins with intention, grounding, and gratitude a ritual that transforms her process into a sacred offering.

She draws constant inspiration from nature, especially during reflective walks in the forest or by rivers near her home in Bornem Belgium. These moments are not pauses from her practice they are integral to it. They remind her that true creativity is not forced but received.

Looking Forward: A Living Dream

Molly envisions a future where her art and life merge even more fully. She dreams of building a farmhouse studio a living space where artists can create in harmony with nature, animals, and spirit.

It will be a place of healing, expression, and belonging. A sanctuary where no one is a visitor only a welcomed soul.

Because for Molly Winckelmans, Art is not a product. It is a calling. A testimony. A sacred way of seeing, feeling, and being.

Some say “a Molly.”

I say — InvestInAMolly.
